Tono dialect is the dialect that actually is spoken around Goishikaigan. Sendai dialect is spoken in the nearest big town. The flat black pebbles on this beach can be picked up and be used right away as the black stones for the Go board game. Hence the name of this place: Go-ishi-kaigan = Go-stone-coast. Suppose you have studied Japanese several years, have been staying in Japan and instantly understand over 50% of the words in most Japanese texts. Then, when you read the subtitles in this video, you suddenly understand less than 5% of the words! Isn\'t that when you suffer a \'grammar shock\'?
